We've designed Balfour as if it were our very own home. Starting with the handsome western architecture, you'll immediately fall in love with the beautiful, park-like setting. The extensive landscaping features ponds with water plants and fish, flower beds and trees, a magnificent courtyard — all adding up to an exceptionally beautiful environment.

The apartments are large and well-lit, with walk-in closets and full kitchens equipped with the latest Whirlpool appliances: dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, modern cooktop and stove, microwave oven, and installed washer and dryer. Nearly half the apartments have patios or balconies.

In addition to the many varied apartments, there are a limited number of spacious two-bedroom cottages, with large living room fireplaces, one-car garages, and private patios.

While you can cook your own meals at The Lodge, you may have little motivation to do so. With our state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen and renowned chefs, you'll enjoy dining at its finest. Eat virtually anytime in the Aspen Grill, the perfect place for light meals, soups, sandwiches and snacks for you and your guests. More formal lunches and dinners are served daily in the Telluride Dining Room, featuring a healthy variety of wonderful meals. In addition, a continental breakfast is served every morning.

More like a spa than a retirement community, The Lodge features an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, well-equipped fitness center, and wellness/exercise programs. Internet access, movie and book clubs, current event classes, cocktail hours, and scheduled community involvements are a few of the many activities that await our residents.

There's a large Great Room complete with a two-story stone fireplace patterned after the hearths of traditional mountain lodges. The spacious Chautauqua Community Room with a stage is perfect for theatrical and musical events and live performances scheduled throughout the year. There's even a dedicated arts and crafts room to facilitate the creativity of our residents, and a 500-gallon salt-water tropical fish tank.
