Balfour's design evokes a true residential feeling, including a decor that reflects the best of the western lifestyle. "Having an in-patient hospice program here at Balfour ensures that we can provide the full spectrum of services for our residents, whether in their apartments or in the adjoining Care Center run by Hospice of Boulder County," says Schonbrun. "We're proud to host the only such in-patient facility of this kind in the county." Balfour's health care and wellness program emphasizes learning, health maintenance, and therapy. Exercise classes for overall fitness, preventive screening programs, lectures on current health topics, and a highly trained staff to help during health transitions are an important part of the ongoing program. Outdoor activities, cultural events, and involvement in the community are all part of the program.
